AcuFill SDK

The AcuFill SDK is a Windows software development kit for reading identity documents with a desktop scanner or camera. Your application scans a driving licence, ID card, passport or other card on a ScanShell scanner or SnapShell camera. The SDK extracts the printed text with OCR, the data in a PDF417 or 1D barcode, the magnetic stripe, and the face and signature images. It recognises more than 700 document types from the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Australia.

  • The core libraries are dynamic-link libraries: Slib.dll drives the scanner and holds the scanned image, ImageCtrl.dll manipulates images, Socr.dll extracts text, IdCard.dll reads driving licences and ID cards, BarCode.dll reads barcodes and DynamicFieldExtraction.dll exports fields into other applications.
  • ScanW.dll is the COM wrapper around the core libraries (SlibEx, IdData, CImage, COcr, CBarCode, MagLib and CPassport). Its interface is sealed for backward compatibility.
  • ScanWex.dll extends ScanW with region-based auto-detection, duplex capture, several scanners and newer functions. It needs ScanW.dll.
  • ScanX.dll is the ActiveX control for VB scripts and other scripting hosts, with the same sublibraries and one flat list of functions and properties (CSSNLib).
  • The Document Library is the set of templates the SDK recognises documents with. It is updated with each SDK release.
  • Device drivers for the ScanShell scanners, SnapShell cameras and other supported devices are installed by the SDK installer.
