Capture
The AssureID capture process involves reading the elements of a document including text (scanned via OCR), images, and data contained in a magnetic stripe, in a machine-readable zone (MRZ), or on a contactless chip. AssureID captures an initial image of a document using a visible, white light source. AssureID can also capture other images using near-infrared (NIR), ultraviolet (UVA), or in some cases coaxial light, depending on the device.
At least one color image is required to authenticate a document. This image must be created by using a white light source on either the front or back side of a document. GBG strongly recommends capturing both sides of a two-sided document for optimal verification results. Additional images may be captured using a different light source to fully authenticate the document. Only images captured with a white or near-Infrared lighting source (not UV or coaxial) are supported if you are using a Data Capture license. All images should be color (24-bit RGB), except near-infrared images, which should be 8-bit grayscale.
