New Issuer Validation Service. The new Issuer Validation service uses data extracted from a US Driving License document and compares it to data maintained by US-based motor vehicles jurisdictions. The service: Returns a Passed result if the document matches the issuing state's records, and the Disposition reads, “The extracted document data matches the issuing authority's records.” Returns a Failed result of the document does NOT match and the Disposition reads, “The extracted document data does not match the issuing authority's records.” Return an Attention if the data could not be confirmed due to an outage or timeout and the Disposition reads, “The extracted document data does not match the issuing authority's records.” Returns no DocumentAlert if the jurisdiction is not currently supported by the service. For backward compatibility, enforcement is set to false by default, thereby allowing older, less secure passwords to be used. When upgrading AssureID Connect to the latest version, the default Administrator account will be configured with dual passwords. The FIPS 140-2 compliant password will be set as the default password. Image compression recommendations - The recommended image compression for an image using a visible (white) light source has been increased to 500 KB (600-1200 KB recommended) in order to preserve image quality and allow for additional authentication tests to be performed. Certain authentication tests may be skipped on images that are overly compressed, which will decrease authentication accuracy. See the AssureID Connect Web Service Integration Guide for more information.
Sharpness and glare metrics - The AssureID Connect SDK was modified to add the optional calculation of metrics for sharpness and glare. This feature allows users to determine the quality of a captured image, on a scale of 0–100 (with 100 being the best quality), after an image is posted but before completing the transaction. You can use these metrics to evaluate whether the captured images are of sufficient quality. GBG recommends that you accept images that yield a quality factor of 50 or greater, and recapture low-quality images with a factor below 50. You may choose to modify this threshold to better suit your application’s specific requirements.
Ping method changes - The Ping method has been modified to enable integrators confirm that they can access and authenticate against the AssureID Connect web service. Ping now returns the current server time in ISO 8601 format, for example:
