Identity documents are captured using either Mobile Journey Capture Service or the Web Journey Capture Service.
- Customer begins the onboarding process by scanning/uploading images of the document at which point the captured document is automatically validated using advanced mathematical algorithms, colour wave-length technology and our propriety library of identity documents.
- A webhook is automatically produced providing the response required for the next action.
- In cases where the outcome of the journey produces a result of ‘’Refer’’; ‘’Not Supported’’; ‘’Expired’’:
- Customer is able to pass the document to the FDE for further verification. The referral will initiate a Web chat with the FDE who would accept it after understanding the source of the referral, gains access to the specific document through a one-time, limited lifespan token, enabling the FDE to securely connect to the environment, review and re-validate IDscan software outcome.
Note: This type of journey requires enabling FDE service, found in ‘’Administration Portal’’.
Cases that are ‘’Passed’’; ‘’Not Accepted’’ or ‘’Undefined’’ cannot be referred to the FDE.
Communication with the customer is via an encrypted chat channel (All transcripts related to any decision making are stored and can be retrieved either through a copy of the PDF)
- Based on a mixture of semantic and visible pattern checks conducted, the FDE overrides the original decision with either ‘’Accept’’ or ‘’Reject’’ decision in Investigation Studio.
To assist with the review process, a FDE also has access to IDscan’s proprietary database of known genuine specimens and live sample images against which the document of interest can be compared to detect any abnormalities.
